The former WH Smith in Sheffield city centre has survived a round of closures under its new owner - but another, larger, culls looms.
TG Jones is closing 19 shops this month but the store on Fargate “remains open,” the business says.
It would not be drawn on whether Sheffield will be affected by the planned closure of another 130 or so over the months to come, as reported in The Times.
A spokesperson said: “The TG Jones shop in Fargate remains open.”
TG Jones was created when Modella Capital bought 480 high street WH Smith shops last year.
In July this year a court approved a restructuring plan in which landlords cut rents in return for Modella ploughing money into a turnaround and a share of future profits.
