Sheffield’s most famous street is always changing and recent developments underline its new direction.
Fargate is set to be home to an oriental supermarket, pizza parlour and huge events building.
It comes after Spud Bros, Chopstix, The Fargate pub and Costa Coffee opened within the last 12 months.
But while the future is food and drink, it has for a long time been home to banks and mobile phone shops.
And retail is still important, not least in the huge and still busy Marks & Spencer.
Check out our gallery to see what’s happening to all the shops on Fargate.
