Chocolate Bar Bullion: Shelves at Sheffield hot chocolate bar picked clean by Christmas crowds

A hot chocolate bar at Leah’s Yard says it has been “blown away” by Sheffield’s support after its shelves were picked clean by Christmas shoppers.

Chocolate Bar by Bullion say the festive rush has seen them cleaned out of their in-house treats.

Cafe supervisor Starlina Rose told The Star her team have to routinely apologise to customers popping in for stocking fillers.

“We get restocked on Fridays and in the last few weeks we run out by Tuesday,” said Starlina.

“So many times a day, we have to say ‘really sorry, come back Friday!’

“We still have coffee beans, branded mugs and candles, but it’s the chocolate bars everyone wants the most.

“On one hand it feels so bad to have to turn people away and on the other we’ve been blown away by the support everyone has shown us and Leah’s Yard.

“We’ve built up a great bunch of regulars, there are people we see every week now who come in to read a book or having outings with work.”

Chocolate Bar by Bullion - which gets a fresh delivery every Friday afternoon - opened the cafe at Leah’s Yard after relocating from their former home in Kelham Island to the city centre.

Its main factory, where it produces its in-demand chocolate bars, remains in Kelham. It’s the latest venture from Max Scotford, the man behind Bullion, and was one of the UK’s first bean-to-bar craft chocolate makers when it launched in 2016.

Chocolate Bar is open seven days a week, from 8am-6pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, 8am-10pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8am-11pm on Fridays, 10am-11pm on Saturdays, and 10am-6pm on Sundays.
