Britain’s largest independent social research agency, NatCen, are looking to recruit part-time field workers to gather data for critical pieces of research so that they can measure the extent of the COVID-19 pandemic – and they are paying £120 per day.

The role involves conducting short telephone interviews with households who have volunteered to help by providing samples as well as delivering and advising household members on how to self-administer swab tests which will be used to establish infection levels across the UK.

All on the job fieldwork is compatible with social distancing guidelines, and there is no direct contact with the participating households.

NatCen is offering many benefits including high-quality initial training with ongoing support, flexible working days, personal mileage allowance of 32p per mile for the first 10,000 miles and then 25p per mile, and £14.52 per day added to fees in lieu of holiday as well as a workplace pension, Statutory Sick Pay and other associated benefits.

Successful applicants for the role will need to be able to work a minimum of six hours per day for a minimum of three days per week and some of this time will include work during evenings and weekends.

Other requirements include owning a car with personal business insurance, documents to verify your identity and to show you're eligible to work in the UK and the candidate must be comfortable with using a smartphone app to record data.
