The Kelham Island Tavern – one of the places credited with triggering Sheffield's brewing renaissance – is running a trial this weekend to see if it can operate a collection service offering a range of its speciality beers.
“We are trialling opening for off sales on cask and keg this week to allow us to keep the staff on 100 per cent wages,” the Russell Street pub, which closed entirely when lockdown began, said.

Opening hours will be 4pm to 6.30pm on April 30 and May 1, 2pm to 5pm on May 2 and 1pm to 3pm on May 3. Payment is by card only.
The first day’s list of ales featured beers on cask for £2.50 a pint, and more on keg for £4 a pint, including Blue Bee Brewery Centennial APA, Pictish Brewing Company’s El Diablo Stout and Wylam Brewery’s A Never Ending Series of Questions IPA.
In 2008 and 2009, the pub won the Campaign for Real Ale’s national Pub of the Year award, CAMRA's highest honour. To this day it remains the only place ever to have won the award two consecutive years.
