College has the law on its side in partnership deal

Law firm Wake Smith & Tofields has become the first organisation to sign a partnership agreement with Sheffield College.

One of the first initiatives to get off the ground as a result of the new partnership is a work- shadowing project offered by Wake Smith & Tofields to students.

Wake Smith & Tofields associate, Christine Moorey, said: “We welcome this exciting opportunity, which will begin with us facilitating work shadowing to support the college’s curriculum.”

Sheffield College acting principal and chief executive, Chris Jones, added: “We are delighted to launch the first of a number of effective, mutually beneficial partnerships currently being developed with local firms in key growth sectors.

“The college is engaging with employers as part of a strategy to upgrade learners’ skills, ensuring they match the needs of the workplace. This not only boosts learners’ employment opportunities but also contributes to Sheffield’s thriving economy.”
