Learning Unlimited, sponsor of the City Region Awards 2015 have praised the ‘fantastic’ firms who were celebrated during the ceremony.
Stuart Cutforth, principal and chief executive of the Chesterfield College Group, of which Learning Unlimited is the work-based training arm, said: “The awards were a fantastic showcase of everything that’s great about businesses across Sheffield City Region.
“It was great to see such stand-out examples in areas such as innovation, customer service and manufacturing and most pleasing of all, investments in training and apprenticeships.
“I must congratulate all of the award winners, and indeed nominees, on their hard work and success as the region grows from strength to strength”.
Learning Unlimited now offers more than 40 different apprenticeship frameworks in industries from design to manufacturing.
Apprenticeships are going from strength to strength across the region and in total Learning Unlimited now works with approximately 4,000 apprentices across 2,000 employers. These are either at an intermediate (level 2), advanced (level 3) or higher level, which is a flexible way for employers to upskill current staff to levels 4, 5 and 6.
With the government determined to achieve a target of 3 million new apprenticeships, a projected 360,000 initially allocated for the Yorkshire region, the opportunities to grow Sheffield City Region businesses with new talent will certainly be out there for the foreseeable future.
Learning Unlimited takes the time to pre-screen and match candidates to businesses in an effort to maximise the benefits an apprentice can offer.
Improving productivity, bringing fresh ideas and filling skills gaps with bespoke training are just a few of the top reasons more and more businesses have decided to take on an apprentice.
It’s an exciting time for businesses across Sheffield City Region with plenty of investment planned for the coming years.
Learning Unlimited is here to ensure businesses have the staff and skills in place to capitalise on the opportunities coming their way.
