Sheffield Central Travelodge has become one of the first of the group’s hotels to benefit from a £223 million investment programme.

The 114-room hotel opened on Broad Street in 2006 and refurbishment was completed in four weeks.

Manager Jill Green said: “We are very excited to have been selected as one of the first hotels across the Travelodge estate to benefit from this investment. The work was carried out with no disturbance to our day-to-day operation and the feedback we have received from customers has been outstanding.”

Travelodge aims to have completed refurbishing half of the rooms at its 500 hotels by the end of the year, a process that involves a million man hours of work, using 60,000 tins of paint and installing 30,000 new beds.
