A DELEGATION from the Chinese province of Shandong has been visiting the Sheffield region, looking for investment opportunities.
The east coast province is one of the most affluent in the country, thanks to investment from Japan and South Korea, and is also the biggest industrial producer and one of the top manufacturing provinces in China.
The delegation targeted the region following a series of Sheffield trade missions to China. Joanna Lavan, from inward investment agency Creativesheffield, organised the Shandong visit.
She said: “It’s great to see such a significant Shandong-based business express an interest in investing in Sheffield. I hope they were impressed by the snapshot of Sheffield that we showed to them and that they will return soon to discuss investment opportunities in more detail.”
