A Chesterfield-based manufacturing firm has generated £26.3m in sales enquiries in the year-to-date - more than doubling its previous record.
Bosses at TMAT, which makes acoustic components for industrial and agricultural vehicles across the globe, put the achievement down to the technologies and resources it can now access and demonstrate to customers since being acquired by Blachford Acoustics Group in November 2014.
In a statement, the company said the record is all the more remarkable given the background of a sluggish manufacturing market and wider economic issues.
TMAT has also been able to generate tooling orders from customers in North America for the first time in it’s history.
Gregory Smith, sales director at the firm, said teamwork and processing orders at speed was key to the firm’s success.
He added: “We’ve gone about our business in the dynamic, fast-paced way we have done in the past, but now with the backing of Blachford Acoustics Group and its world-class resources behind us.
“Being able to demonstrate to big, global players that we now have financial stability thanks to the Blachford Acoustics Group acquisition is making all the difference in the world. When you add into the mix the access to Blachford’s unrivalled R&D facilities gives us, you can see why TMAT – with its heritage of designing and manufacturing the best acoustic solutions in the business – has become such a tempting proposition to global original equipment manufacturers (OEMS).”
TMAT – which forms part of the Blachford Acoustics Group - designs and engineers innovative solutions to noise, vibration and harshness for industrial vehicles.
