Staff at Rensburg Sheppards Investment Management in Sheffield are organising a charity ball and bike ride to raise money for a range of local and national charities.

The black tie ball will be held at the Cutlers’ Hall in Sheffield on Saturday, June 25, the month before a team of 10 set out on a 300-mile, four-day cycle ride from London to Paris.

Senior investment director James Bedingfield, who will be one of the 10, said: “We are all keen sportsman, but novice cyclists which makes it more of a challenge.

“However, we hope the ride will help us all get into shape and, more importantly, raise money for causes close to our hearts.

“We are really excited, not only about the ride over to Paris, but about the ball too and have had lots of support from colleagues at Rensburg Sheppards and our clients - it looks set to be a huge success and a great fundraiser for many worthy causes.”

James will be raising money for the Sheffield Family Holiday Fund of which he is a trustee and which arranges short breaks for underprivileged families with children.

Other charities benefiting will include Bluebell Wood Hospice, The Cavendish Centre and a range of national charities including Marie Curie Cancer Care.
