Sheffield businesswomen celebrated their success at a special event to mark International Women’s Day.
Speakers at the event, run by Sheffield City Council’s Enterprise Programme, included Tracey Campbell, owner of Campbell’s Flowers, Abi Golland of Street Food Chef, and Baljit Kaur from Spice Bites.
Attending the event were women from all across the city who have received support from the Enterprise Programme, including, in some cases, help from a dedicated advisor or mentor.
Baljit Kaur said: “The programme has helped me get where I am now.
“By attending coaching sessions I have built up my own network of likeminded business people and I also know there is somebody on the end of the phone whenever I need them.
“Sharing my experiences has enabled me to give something back and, hopefully, encourage more women to come on to the programme.”
Sheffield City Council leader, Coun Julie Dore, said: “Despite the climate of cuts and uncertainty, we understand that we need to maintain our investment in developing the businesses which will drive forward our economy.
“International Women’s Day was a great opportunity to explain both the support we offer and also to inspire more women from all backgrounds and cultures to consider going into business.”
