CCTV firm's new owners focus on growth

Sheffield security company Vision CCTV is targeting expansion after a £400,000 management buy-in, with backing from Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank's South Yorkshire Business Centre.

New owner and managing director Tim Ralston said: “The electronic security industry has developed significantly over the years, the technology has progressed and demand has increased as businesses become increasingly security- conscious.

“We have secured a number of new contracts and will be looking to expand the business.”

Andy Cocker, head of Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank’s South Yorkshire Business Centre, said: “Tim’s business experience, combined with the knowledge and expertise of the existing team at Vision CCTV, will help to develop and expand the business, furthering its potential, creating new job opportunities and ensuring the continued success.”

Former owner Peter Davidson will continue to play an important role in the day-to-day running .

The deal was introduced to Alliance & Leicester Commercial Bank and the South Yorkshire Investment Fund by Sheffield accountants Hart Shaw.

Although closed circuit television systems make up the bulk of Vision CCTV’s business, the company provides a range of electronic security systems and services, including alarm systems, security lighting, access control, electronic gates and barriers, short-term system hire, electronic article surveillance and electronic point of sale monitoring systems.

The company supplies equipment for other applications, such as production or process monitoring, traffic management, and health and safety promotion.

Clients include the Crown Prosecution Service, Severn Trent, Swallow Inns, British Aerospace, Dunlop and health authorities.
