LORD Heseltine and Energy UK’s new chief executive Angela Knight will be among the leading guests attending the 376th Cutlers’ Feast, which takes place in the Cutlers’ Hall tonight.

Self-made millionaire and former Conservative Deputy Prime Minister Michael Heseltine will be the main speaker at the Feast, along with Cutlers’ Company Senior Warden Neil MacDonald.

Lord Heseltine is currently in charge of the independent panel that advises coalition government ministers on grants to be made from the Regional Growth Fund, which is supporting 15 projects in the Sheffield City Region.

Mr MacDonald is finance director of Rotherham’s most profitable company AES Engineering and is in line to become Master Cutler later this year.

In his keynote speech he will say that, despite the continuing difficult economic conditions, there is success and confidence in the region, helped by a “can do” attitude.

Sheffield-born former city councillor and MP Angela Knight was this week named as the chief executive of Energy UK, a new trade association for companies in the energy sector, and will take up her role in the summer, after stepping down as Chief Executive of the British Bankers’ Association.
