Charity definitely began at home when Thornbridge Brewery secured a deal to supply its beer to the ‘best department store in the world.’
The award-winning Bakewell brewery, which has revitalised several Sheffield pubs, has clinched a deal to supply to Selfridges, with the help of St Luke’s Hospice. Thornbridge is a keen supporter of the Sheffield hospice and St Luke’s income development manager, Ged Carter, introduced the Thornbridge brand to his friend Dawn Davies, sommelier with Selfridges.
Thornbridge’s acclaimed ales will now be available at Selfridges’ flagship store on London’s Oxford Street, as well as its stores in Birmingham and at the Trafford Centre in Manchester.
“The Thornbridge team have been such keen and generous supporters of St Luke’s and this seemed an excellent way to give them something in return, Thornbridge Brewery is a marvellous success story and a company we are proud to be associated with,” said Mr Carter.
Dawn Davies said: “Thornbridge beers are a great example of the British brewing industry’s honest flavours and top quality.”
Selfridges secured the best department store in the world title at the Global Department Store Summit in Paris.
