Bosses dust off their old skills for charity

Bosses from Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire operations have gone back out on the building site and dusted off their old skills in the aid of charity.

Graham Hill swapped his day-to-day job as construction director at Doncaster-based Persimmon Homes South Yorkshire and returned to his first housebuilding role as bricklayer, along with site managers Dean Oades and John Collinson.

The trio were sponsored to show off their bricklaying skills and spend the day working at the company’s Moor Park development in support of the nationwide Back to the Shop Floor fundraising event for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Graham Hill said: “Whilst this is a fun and creative way of raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care there is a serious side to Back to the Shop Floor. The charity provides expert nursing care for many people across the region and if they are to continue, it’s vital they receive ongoing funding. It’s rewarding to know we will be playing a part in helping to boost their fundraising appeal.”

Marie Curie Cancer Care aims to raise 250,000 nationwide through this year’s event.
