Black Burger Sheffield: Artisan burger takeaway closes down after less than six months

An artisan burger restaurant that opened in Sheffield in the summer has already shut its doors for good - but it looks like the premises is soon to be taken over.

Black Burger took Sheffield by storm when it opened at 287 Ecclesall Road in June. However the Peaky Blinders-themed takeaway, which hoped to bring ‘something new’ to the city, has shut.

The venue, sat beside Papa Johns takeaway shop, can now be seen to be under renovation.

Black Burger’s menu boasted vibrant pink and black burger buns with pink or black cheese, and a range of juicy patties.

The three-person team behind the brand had more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, and at the time of opening, had high hopes of expanding their first business in the future.

Their Instagram has not been updated since early August.

A new shop front has since been fitted, reading 418 Eats. On Google, the new shop describes itself as a "neighbourhood sandwich bar".
