Best and worst beauty buys, reviewed for you....
Mark O’Malley, a senior hair stylist at the Lynda V Price salon and spa in Ecclesall Road, tells us his best and worst beauty buys:
HIT: NIVEA FOR MEN COOL KICK POST-SHAVE BALM, £8.99, BOOTS
There’s a simple reason why I use Nivea for Men products – they’re good value and good quality. I need to moisturise after I’ve shaved and I’ve found this is the best product in this price range. It absorbs really well and is extremely soothing.
MISS: NIVEA VISAGE DAILY ESSENTIALS SCRUB, £3.99, BOOTS
I usually like all Nivea products but I couldn’t get on with this one at all. The problem is probably mine. Maybe exfoliants really aren’t for me; I can’t even stand the feeling of sand on my skin. This had a really sandy texture. I didn’t like the sensation at all.
BareMinerals Locked & Coated Waterproof Lash Topcoat, £12, Debenhams
BareMinerals are known for their pure powder foundations and bronzers. But they do a full range of cosmetics, too. This invisible, non-clumping topcoat is a great summer beauty buy; it transforms your favourite mascara into a waterproof version at a stroke. Like a raincoat for lashes, it also stops mascara running in the heat.
