A BID to extend opening hours at a Sheffield city centre bar is to be considered by a council committee.
Soyo, Rockingham Street, currently closes at 12.30am Sundays to Wednesdays and 1.30am Thursdays to Saturdays. It has obtained planning permission to open for an extra hour each night, but also needs a licence to implement it.
However, nearby residents and Coun Rob Murphy, Green Party member for Central ward, have objected to the application on the grounds of late-night nuisance from customers. They had also objected to the planning application.
The proposal will be considered at a meeting of the council’s licensing board on Tuesday.
