Bank Holiday delays on mainline railway route

RAIL travellers are facing delays between Doncaster and London over the bank holidays as engineering works start.

Train operator East Coast is warning it is altering its timetables on the mainline service over the April and May Day bank holidays.

Some changes were being made to today’s timetable.

Tomorrow evening there will be delays due to work between Doncaster and Newark, which is due to start at 9.15pm. It will add 25 minutes to journey times.

Engineering work between Peterborough and Stevenage will result in changes to late evening services between Leeds and London.

Easter Sunday will also see disruption, with engineering work continuing between Peterborough and Stevenage until 2pm.

During that time East Coast services will not call at Stevenage.

There will also be a revised timetable on Monday.

Royal Wedding Day – Friday April 29 – will also see the service operate a revised timetable for the day

On Saturday April 30 there will be delays of 35 minutes on trains on the line after 9.15pm.Sunday, May 1, will see similar changes to the services to Easter Sunday.
