Award-winning Sheffield business continues to grow despite impact of the pandemic
An award-winning subscription book service in Sheffield is continuing to grow – thanks to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
My Chronicle Book Box is a specialist subscription book service which was created by Louise Driffield in 2017.
The business works on a monthly subscription basis with a book from a specific genre selected.
All books are signed by the author and the gift box also contains an accompanying letter from them.
“I hand pick one book each month from the latest releases,” said Louise
Also contained in the box specially selected book-themed gifts from designers from all over the UK.
“I love to include products from other local businesses in our gift box.
“I regularly collaborate with Sheffield makers, illustrators, and local authors whenever I can.
“I featured Firewatching by Russ Thomas last year and I'm over the moon to be featuring his follow up novel Nighthawking in my monthly crime book subscription boxes this month,” she added.
Louise’s business won the Launchpad Rising Star Business of the Sheffield Region in 2019.
“That was amazing,” she said.
The pandemic has seen a rise in book sales all over the UK.
“I’ve probably had different issues to other people, insofar as demand has gone up and up.
"I’m still having to cope with homeschooling and trying to work from home as much as possible.
“So trying to balance it all has been difficult, yeah we’ve managed through, it's been great.
“We’ve had a lot of lovely feedback from people.” said Louise
