Businesswoman Amy Stephenson is giving recruitment the “Human” touch.

Amy set up her recruitment consultancy, Human, with help from Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber of Commerce, after deciding to go it alone when her previous employer moved its Sheffield office to Leeds.

Human was up and running soon after Amy first met with the Chamber’s specialist enterprise coach, Jav Khan, to iron out key parts of the business planning phase.

Jav also assisted Amy in dealing with the financial side of the company and developing its brand.

“I already had a business plan in place when I made my initial contact with him and he worked with me to tighten up that plan and ensure I had the right processes in place,” said Amy.

“Jav has also done a lot of sanity checking which has helped me make important decisions quickly. Jav’s help has been invaluable and it is a huge bonus that the chamber provides this guidance for free.”

The chamber provided support for Human through the Regional Enterprise Programme, which is part financed by the Yorkshire and Humber European Regional Development Fund Programme.
