Yorkshire’s most successful Queen’s Award winner is back at the top of profits league in Rotherham after last year’s leader suffered a significant change of fortune.

AES Engineering, which only last month added a 12th Queen’s Award to its tally, boosted profits by 10 per cent to £6.7 million to secure the top spot ahead of leading domestic electrical goods manufacturer Morphy Richards and leading metals recycler CF Booth, both of whom also boosted their profits.

After boosting profits by 70 per cent to more than £6 million to head the Rotherham table last year, German-owned, Hellaby-based industrial and telecommunications enclosures manufacturer Rittal has suffered losses topping £7 million.
