Many services were suspended yesterday when wintry weather left roads treacherous.

A number of buses got stuck and cars vehicles were abandoned, including some on tram tracks, which led to services being suspended.

A number of roads were closed due to collisions.

Today, Stagecoach Supertram said: “All routes are running today but the icy start and general conditions out there are causing some delays and cancellations to all services.

“Wrap up warm as you may be waiting longer than usual but please only travel if your journey is essential.”

Travel South Yorkshire, which co-ordinates public transport, said: “Operators are doing what they can to get services back to as close to normal as possible, but it will take time as road conditions are still poor. Delays are inevitable.”
