Boys due in court accused of murder of Lewis Williams in Mexborough

Two teenage boys are due in court today accused of murdering a young man in Doncaster.

The suspects, aged 16 and 17, were charged yesterday over the death of 20-year-old Lewis Williams, who was shot dead on Monday afternoon.

The boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court.

In addition to the murder charge, they are both accused of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and criminal damage.

The 16-year-old has also been charged with assault.

Last night, two men aged 22 and 32 remained in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further enquiries along with another 20-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
