The organiser of annual charity fashion show, Runway Idol, is looking for models of all ages, sizes and shapes to walk in their 2020 show this summer.

James Clarke, event organiser, said: “I’d love people from the city to sign up and model because absolutely anyone is good enough to be a model.

“I want more diversity than ever before and I want it to celebrate the best of Sheffield. I want the models to be a mixture of future modelling stars who will use this as a great opportunity and also real people who want just to have fun.”

Since launching in 2018, the show has raised £8,000 for charity. Some of the biggest brands in fashion, including Diesel, The Couture Club and In The Style, have donated clothes for the show.

All of the clothes featured in the show are donated to charity afterwards. This year’s show will be in aid of Sheffield MIND and The UK Sepsis Trust. It will be held at Hillsborough Stadium on Friday, July 3.

James and his team are looking for 10 male models and 10 female models, who will model in eight different themed walks on the catwalk, with themes ranging from summer, to bridal and suited and booted, to underwear.

James added: “I organise several events but there is something about Runway Idol which is just so hard to describe. There is always a real buzz in the air on the evening of the show, from both the audience and the models backstage.

“I would really encourage local people to get involved and audition, as it would be a great goal to work towards – strutting your stuff on a catwalk in front of hundreds of people.”

The show is being sponsored two Sheffield companies, national law firm, Irwin Mitchell and brand new event space, The OEC.

To register your interest in modelling in Runway Idol, please email three recent full-length photographs to [email protected]. Auditions will be held in Sheffield in March or April. There are no height restrictions, but all applicants must be aged 16 plus. No modelling experience needed.

For more information, search ‘Runway Idol’ on Facebook and Instagram. Tickets for the event will be on sale from March.
