The Sheffield coffee roasting business has set up its operation in the Hide on Scotland Street.

Smith Street was created after the owner Trevor Neville took a trip to Melbourne in 2014 and experienced the Australian speciality coffee scene, and has been based at The Holt for the last couple of years.

Trevor Neville said: “It felt right to set up our own coffee shop alongside the roastery, serving not only fresh small batch coffee which is roasted on site, but a range of sandwiches and cakes. “We will be roasting daily, so people can come along to see how it’s done, from green beans to beautiful cups of coffee. The point of small batch roasting is to get the beans ready to brew fresh around a week or two after roasting when they are perfect for making into your preferred coffee.”

This week is National Coffee Week (until May 5) and to celebrate True North Brew Co venues are offering customers their favourite coffee with freshly-baked cinnamon bun for £3.95.

On to a different kind of drink, and staff from Cubana in Leopold Square have gone the extra mile when it comes to picking their new wines.

Seven members of staff were personally invited to tour La Rioja’s famed Carlos Serres winery in Spain and four of its wines are now on the new menu.

Cubana's Adrian Bagnoli said: “We were particularly impressed the century old winery still respects the legacy of its founder.”
