Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley spotted in Sheffield - this is why

The 27-year-old, who got her breakthrough role as Jedi Rey in the latest trilogy, can usually be seen in London or New York – like most film stars – so why was she in the steel city.

She was spotted last night, Tuesday, March 10, at the Crucible for a modern version of Shakespeare's Coriolanus, where she gave a “standing ovation”.

An anonymous audience member told the Star: "You don't expect to see a big Hollywood star in Sheffield so I was a bit surprised.

“She did not have any security guards with her or anything like that.

“She obviously enjoyed the show as she gave a standing ovation at the end."

Appart for seeing the “feeling evoking play”, sat alongside the rest of the theatre goers, Daisy might have also been there to support her rumoured fiancé Tom Bateman, who is in the show.

Tom, who Daisy met while filming Murder On The Orient Express in 2017, has taken on the role of Coriolanus, and reviews have said he is “thoroughly believable”.

And, you maybe able to also catch the show as it is at the Crucible till March 28.
