Sheffield and Buxton visits for The Snowman

You know that Christmas is well and truly on its way when the screenings of The Snowman accompanied by a live score start to arrive in venues.

Carrot Productions are touring Derbyshire venues and their performances feature outstanding young local singers.

They have been chosen to sing the magical solos including the haunting song Walking in the Air.

The show, which also includes an animated version of The Nutcracker Suite, visits The Octagon, Buxton on December 10.

Soloists for this show are 12-year-olds Eve Smith, who attends Chapel-en-le-Frith High School, and Karl Moorwood.

Karl is a pupil at Lady Manners School, Bakewell, is a member of Kinder Children’s Choir and PB Youth Theatricals.

A different production in Sheffield features Sheffield Rep Orchestra performing the original score by Howard Blake. The orchestra will also play a medley of music from the film Frozen and other Christmassy favourites.

The show takes place at The Octagon, Clarkson Street, Sheffield on December 21 and is part of a University of Sheffield concert season. Tickets: concerts.sheffield.ac.uk
