Earlier this week, the beloved comedian and charity superstar announced his first touring show in over a decade, with 22 gigs across the UK and Ireland. Tickets are going to be gold dust, and hundreds of thousands are expected to log on when the sale goes live at 10am on Saturday, November 12.

There were already two nights booked at the Steel City’s Utilita Arena – one on February 17 and another on August 11 – and now, the Bolton funnyman has confirmed an additional date. In a post today (November 10), the arena announced Peter will play an additional show on August 12, just so as many fans of his Sheffield fans as possible can have their chance to help his mum buy a new carpet.

The comedian revealed his comeback tour with a surprise advertisement during the premiere of I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! 2022 on Sunday night. Peter’s last tour in 2010 set the Guiness World Record for the yet-unbroken highest-selling comedy tour of all time. The northern comic also wants to keep ticket costs as cheap as possible in order to help struggling fans with the cost-of-living crisis, and is pricing seats at £35- – the same as they were a decade ago.

Announcing the news, he said: “It’s good to get back to what I love doing best, stand-up comedy and if there’s ever a time people need a laugh it’s now. And with the cost of living at an all-time high, ticket prices are starting from £35. The same price they were on my previous tour in 2010.”

In 2017, the 49-year-old took a break from the spotlight and cancelled his nationwide tour, citing family circumstances. Since then, he has gradually returned to public life with a series of surprise performances and charity events, most notably the Dance For Life show in Liverpool in August for Cancer Research.

Tickets for Peter Kay’s arena tour will go on sale on Saturday (November 12). The sale will start at 10am and can be purchased from Peter Kay’s official website. Tickets will also be available from Ticketmaster and, for Sheffield fans, directly from the Utilita Arena website.
