Dronfield family pantomime fun with Goldilocks and the 3 Bears

Porridge is on the menu at Dronfield Civic Hall this month. But who’s been eating it? Could it be those pesky bears?

Dronfield Musical Theatre Group’s 2020 pantomime Goldilocks and the 3 Bears is a colourful reworking of the famous fairy tale.

“But this is very definitely the pantomime version,” said director Andrea Powell, who has taken on the job for almost 20 years.

“Dronfield’s pantomimes seem to grow bigger and more popular every year and Goldilocks is a fun-packed show with lots of silliness and the usual ingredients that make our pantomime as special.

“Our audiences love to boo the nasties, cheer the goodies and laugh at the antics of the dame and all her pals. Pantomimes always have something for young and old and that’s what make them so magical for a good old-fashioned family outing.”

Ellie Ashmore is in the title role, Richard Gilson is daddy bear, Lindsay Ashmore plays mummy bear and Lily Ward is baby bear. Gavin Ward dons a frock and lippy again as dame and Tommy Jones is a villainous Queen Bee.

Goldilocks runs at Dronfield Civic Hall from January 17 to January 26 with various evening and matinee performances. Tickets are £10 (£9 for 14 and under). Call 01246 416364. Details at www.dronfieldmtg.co.uk
