Doctor Who fans spot several Sheffield landmarks during terrifying new BBC episode
Sheffield had a starring role in the latest episode of Doctor Who, featuring a nightmarish monster with detachable fingers.
The city featured prominently in the last series, as Jodie Whittaker took over as Time Lord, but has been seen less frequently so far in series 12.
However, several scenes from episode 7, titled Can You Hear Me?, which aired on Sunday night, will have been familiar to Sheffielders.
Much of the action took place at Park Hill flats and landmarks from the Crucible theatre to Sheffield Cathedral were also visible.
The latest instalment flipped between ancient Syria and present day Sheffield, with the Doctor’s companions Graham, Yaz and Ryan finding themselves haunted by very different experiences as they returned home to see friends and family in the Steel City.
It explored the theme of mental health and depression, with reviews praising the show for its sensitive handling of the important topic.
