Farm Technology in Action in the Hope Valley
The latest on-farm technology to help farmers become more efficient and environmentally sustainable will be showcased at two venues in the Hope Valley on September 10.
The Hope Valley, Bradfield and Hayfield Farmers groups are staging a Farm Technology Demonstration Day at the Travellers Rest and William Eyre and Sons in Brough. Farmers from across the Peak District and High Peak are invited to come along and see the products and services which could help them increase profitability on their farms.
Chloe Palmer, Coordinator for all three farmer groups says: “This is a not to be missed opportunity to come and see at first hand a range of exciting technologies which will help farmers improve efficiency, save on costs and manage their business more effectively.
“Farmers will have the opportunity to meet experts from the farm tech industry and discuss how the latest products and services can help their farm business.

“Highlights of the event will include a flying farm drone demonstration and free faecal egg counts for farmers who bring their dung samples along to the event. We also have presentations from a range of industry experts lined up including speakers from virtual fencing company ‘NoFence’ and Regenerate Outcomes.
“There will also be demonstrations of electronic identification and weigh crates and data management ongoing at William Eyre and Sons at Brough Mill. The event is entirely free and no need to book on – just come along on the day.”
There is a morning session running from 10.30am until 1pm and an afternoon session running from 1.30pm to 4pm. The drone flyover takes place in the field next to the Travellers Rest and presentations are inside the pub.
