The event, will take place on October 31, at 5.30pm, at The Del, Hexthorpe, when Janet Wood (pictured) and Keith Angel, will run the Right Up Our Street funded celebration of the regions loved ones.
Janet said: “We have been in the community in Balby and Mexborough gathering people’s stories, we’ve been so touched by how many people have wanted to talk and share their experiences of losing loved ones.
“Some of the stories we have gathered are decades old, others much newer and all are tinged with sadness.
“What we are now working on is a way to turn these stories into songs and celebrate the lives that people lived. Remember the good times and mark these with this celebratory event.”

Day of the Dead is celebrated throughout Mexico, and acknowledged around the world in other cultures. It focuses on gatherings of family and friends to their loved ones in a celebratory way.
People will meet at the gates of the Dell where there will be a lantern parade to the bandstand.
Right Up Our Street, Arts Supporter, Kate Sully, is working with local schools to show the children how to make lanterns for the parade.
“We wanted to help people to address loss in this celebratory way to help them overcome personal grief,” said Janet.
“We’ll also be running drumming and singing workshops in the local schools ahead of the celebration and will be inviting the children and their families to join us for this a great community celebration.”
