Daleks, Stormtroppers and Transformers set to attend Sci-Fest

Calling all sci-fi fans – make sure you secure your tickets for the popular Sci-Fest which is coming to the region later this year.

The popular Sci-Fest is returning to The Baths Hall in Scunthorpe on Sunday November 1, from 11am to 5pm. and is set to be bigger and better than ever.

As always, people can expect a ‘sci-fastic’ day with lots of special guests and activities. We can guarantee you won’t want it to end.

With Daleks, Stormtroopers, a TARDIS, Transformers and Minecraft - plus much, much more, you won’t believe your eyes.

The 12th Doctor Who, Richard Ashton will host the event along with many other special guests who are not to be missed.

Justin Richards, author of a range of Doctor Who titles will be attending along with Martin Currie from The Raygun Consultancy and John Coppinger, the sculptor of Jabba the Hut.

The Super Heroes, Iron Patriot and Iron Man will be flying into the event, as well as some other favourite characters.

Get involved in a range of fun activities throughout the day, including:

Replica props and costumed characters

An audience with the Daleks

Cosplay competition

Guest talks with Justin Richards, Martin Currie and John Coppinger

Sci-fi themed quiz

Minecraft and other console gaming activities

Face painting

Sci-fi craft activities with 20-21 Visual Arts Centre including make your own ray gun plus Star Wars, Ghostbusters and Doctor Who themed crafts

Bring your own unwanted sci-fi items to sell

On top of all that Transformers fans can get their photo taken with Bumblebee Autobot and Sentinel Squad UK will be trooping the event.

Councillor Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for Customer Services, Sport and Leisure, said: “Now in its third year, Sci-Fest is going from strength to strength. Due to the popularity of these kinds of events it was decided to create Sci-Fest so that cosplay and science fiction fans in North Lincolnshire and further afield had a fantastic event right on their doorstep. This year’s Sci-Fest will be even bigger and better with lots of special guests and activities.

“Sci-Fest is a must for all cosplay and science fiction fans. Tell all your friends and family about it. You are guaranteed to have a great time. Make sure you get your tickets in advance as you will save £2.”Tickets are on sale now; gets yours online at: Sci-Fest from Scunthorpe Central Library or by calling 01724 860161. It costs £4 for a single ticket or £10 for a family ticket (two adults and two children or one adult and three children).

Tickets bought on the day will cost £6 for a single and £12 for a family.

Proceeds from the tickets will be donated to a number of charities. Last year £1,500 was raised for charity.
