Paul Rowland’s painting which is featured next to the Mi-Amigo memorial has been bought by Ian Littlewood, owner of Rother Valley Optics in Kiveton Park where it is now being proudly displayed in his shop.

Paul said: “I am always sad to part with my paintings as I spend so much time researching them and absorbing myself emotionally in the stories that I am trying to depict. However, I couldn’t be happier with Mi-Amigo’s new home at Rother Valley Optics. The pristine white walls, bright lights and minimalist fittings in the shop make it look as though it’s in an art gallery. Having said that, I still feel as though I am parting with one of my children - Adios Mi-Amigo!”

The painting was regularly displayed at the official memorial service to the crew at St. Cuthbert’s Church on Brocco Bank and is attended by local Sheffield dignitaries including the Lord Mayor, The Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire and officers and personnel from the United States Air Force.
