270 jobs on offer at fast-growing Sheffield call centre

Webhelp wants sales advisers, team leaders and operations managers by the end of April. The jobs will be homeworking initially but could become home and office-based in future and will be working for customers in the retail telecoms sector.

The move will see the number of people employed by Webhelp across its three sites in South Yorkshire increase to 2800.

The French-owned firm operates from Amberley Street in Attercliffe, Nunnery Square in the city centre and in the Dearne Valley.

In December, The Star reported that 190 Attercliffe workers faced redeployment or redundancy in a shakeup that put jobs for online retailer Freemans at risk of being moved to South Africa in spring.

A spokesman said: “Redeployment was offered to everyone. Those who chose to redeploy are in the process of doing so into existing campaigns. These 270 opportunities are new.”

Webhelp employs 65,000 people at 150 sites in 50 countries.
