Goalkeeper Wes Foderingham fully justified the decision to recall him to the Sheffield United side with a stand-out display in defeat at Manchester United this evening. The stopper was recalled in place of Ivo Grbic and pulled off a number of fine saves as his side twice took the lead, before eventually losing 4-2.
Jayden Bogle and then Ben Brereton Diaz had given the Blades the lead, either side of Harry Maguire’s equaliser, before two goals from Bruno Fernandes - one from the penalty spot - and a tap-in for Rasmus Hojlund sealed victory for the hosts, who were looking more than a little nervy when twice trailing the league’s bottom club. Here’s how we rated United’s players in a brave defeat...
9. Gus Hamer 6.5
Always looked to try and do something with the ball with the limited use of it United had in the first half and showed good composure in the second to turn on the edge of the Man U box and find Osborn on the left for Brereton Diaz's goal. Curled a late free-kick just wide of Onana's goal

Another typical shift from the Chile international, who will feel he could have done better with an earlier chance off the left which he scuffed straight at Onana but when a second chance came in the second half, with no time to think before an instinctive finish, he made no mistake to put the Blades back ahead. Later saw another shot deflected narrowly wide off Maguire Photo: Manchester United via Getty Images
11. Cameron Archer 5
Back in the side alongside Brereton Diaz up front with McBurnie out injured and with United restricted to a fraction of possession it was never going to be a game of numerous chances for the forward. He ran the channels diligently but was never really full in the game and made way soon after the hour mark, for McAtee

Came on for Brooks at the break and had a spell at centre-half
