Major Sheffield road closed for engineering works

A major road in Sheffield is closed until Monday while engineering works take place.

The A616 Stocksbridge Bypass is shut between Fox Valley Way and Flouch Roundabout while Highways England carries out work to improve drainage and reduce the risk of flooding.

The route was closed yesterday evening and is due to open by 5am on Monday, March 22.

A diversion is in place via Hoylandswaine, following the A629 and A628.

Highways England today said the roadworks remained on schedule.
