Have your say as consultation on Sheffield's local plan consultation opens
and live on Freeview channel 276
It started on September 1 and will run for six weeks until October 13.
Anyone can have their say on what they think should be in the local plan which addresses issues such as housing, environment and high-streets and guides future developments up to 2038.

Hide AdCouncillor Bob Johnson, cabinet member for transport and sustainability, said: “This consultation is an important opportunity to have your say on how you think our city should be developed in the future. The consultation will focus on our vision for Sheffield in years to come and will cover wide ranging issues from housing and jobs to creating new communities.
“These big decisions will shape the future of Sheffield. It’s important that we hear from as many local people as possible, this is your city and we need to know what is most important to you and how you would like to see it develop.”

There will also be three consultation sessions held online over the video conferencing tool Zoom with a short presentation followed by a question and answer session.

Hide AdQuestions for these can be submitted via the chat in Zoom during the event or sent in advance.
These will be on 3 September at 6pm, 16 September at 6pm and 23 September at 1pm.
Participants will be required to register their name and an email address.
The sessions will be chaired by the head of planning or the local plan service manager and there will be a panel of officers from the council’s forward and area planning and transport policy team.

Hide AdThose without internet access can nominate an advocate to share views on their behalf or request a questionnaire to be sent out by post.
For those who are non-English speakers, the council said it will provide a translator via video or provide translations of small parts of the document.
The Sheffield Plan is due to come into action in 2023. Delays meant the plan has not been updated in 11 years.
