The female dog was found in Arbourthorne this morning by TSG officers on the junction of Eastern Avenue and Dagnam Road.
She was taken to the PDSA (People's Dispensary for Sick Animals) on Newhall Road and an appeal was launched on social media.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Thank you to everyone who shared our post.
“We have been told that the dog TSG officers found this morning has been collected from the @PDSA_HQ and is now home.
“Happy Saturday!”
