M1 junction 33: Collision near Rotherham sees woman, 52, transported to hospital

A three-car collision on an M1 southbound exit near Rotherham has seen a woman taken to hospital.

The A630 in Canklow, Rotherham, near J33 on the M1, experienced heavy traffic this afternoon after a reported road traffic collision.

In a video obtained by the Star a large emergency response was in attendance at the scene, including three fire engines, around two ambulances, and around three marked and un-marked police vehicles.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed that a collision saw a 52-year-old woman taken to hospital by ambulance, and she is not believed to have suffered any life-threatening or altering injuries.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We received an emergency call at 1.54pm today to report a collision between three vehicles on West Bawtry Road, near to junction 33 of the M1. Three ambulances were dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to hospital.”

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said the area was cleared by 2.38pm.
