Police CSI team on the scene of Sheffield flat fire as investigation continues

A police CSI team has been deployed to a Sheffield flat where a blaze broke out.

Emergency services were alerted to the fire on Laburnum Grove, Stocksbridge, at around 4.30pm yesterday and found a first floor flat engulfed in flames.

The fire had spread to the roof of the property.

A neighbour used a garden hose to try to douse the flames as firefighters from across Sheffield raced to the scene.

Four flats in the block where the fire broke out were evacuated as a precaution.
