BUDDING footballers from Shirecliffe came away with a clean sweep of trophies for the second year in a row after a tournament involving youngsters in the north of Sheffield.
Almost 150 boys in 17 teams took part in the annual Blastoff event at Concord Sports Centre, Shiregreen.

There were two age groups – 11 to 13 won by Shirecliffe A and 14 to 16 won by Shirecliffe B. Both teams were defending champions from last year.

Paul Billington, head of activity at Sheffield Council, said: "Blastoff is a great example of the kinds of activities that will become available all around the city for eight- to 13-year-olds during the next year."
