See inside the teddy bear hospital
TEDDY bears of all shapes, sizes and ages were given a thorough health check at a unique clinic at a Sheffield hospital.
The bears were examined by medical students, had their blood pressure taken, had an X-ray or MRI scan and received treatment, such as a bandage or a 'pawscription' for love and hugs, at Weston Park Hospital.
But the fun event organised by the medical students had a serious aim - to help the trainee doctors gain valuable experience with children.
Medical students also staged the event to help dispel fears which children aged four to 11 might have about visiting doctors and hospitals.
Every sick teddy bear had a consultation with one of the medical students - or 'Teddy Doctors' as they were called.
Other activities including healthy eating games, a chance to learn about the skeleton or organs and face painting.
