YOUNGSTERS will be taking over the airwaves at Hallam FM today as part of a charity campaign telling local listeners how they can help save a child's life.
Save the Children has teamed up with the station to host their 'For The Kids' Day,' giving budding DJs the extraordinary chance to run the radio for the day.

The young DJs will present features - including the news - and tell the audience about the charity's work giving vulnerable children a chance of survival.

The event is part of the charity's biggest ever global campaign which aims to stop the huge number of children dying before their fifth birthday.

Rosie Shannon, from Save the Children, said: "This is a great opportunity for local kids to show off their enormous talent, while letting their community know how easy it is for them to help those children in need."

A Hallam FM spokesman added: "It's fantastic to have young people in the studio with us.

"It's sure to create a vibrant atmosphere and a real buzz as well as helping vulnerable children everywhere. Who knows, maybe we'll also find our future Hallam FM DJs."
