THESE things son, are what we cows call people...
There has been plenty of human interest in Boris the new-born Highland calf since his arrival at the Rare Breeds Centre in Graves Park, Sheffield.

And, according to staff on the farm, he's just as interested at looking at people as they are of looking at him.

Here we see him chewing over the cud with his mum Bettish as they peer towards their human admirers.

And according to the centre's leading stocks person Chris Dyson there have been plenty of them.

"We've had lots of people call up to see him," said Chris.

"He's very inquisitive and loves to perform by bounding about in his field and showing off.

"He's a really cheeky and very charismatic cow."

Chris said Boris had a shaky start but he's coming on leaps and bounds.

"When Boris was born it was very cold and wet outside so we had to bring him inside.

"Then we discovered his mum had slightly enlarged teats so he was unable to feed from her.

"We cared for him for a while and encouraged him to feed for himself and now he's getting on fine."

Chris says Boris is one of three calves born at the centre so far - but another 20 little cuties just like Boris are due to arrive in the next few days.
