DONCASTER youngster Ellie Raven's artwork could soon be at the centre of meal times at restaurants up and down the country.
The 10-year-old pupil at Willow Primary School, Bessacarr, has won the Yorkshire regional heat in a national competition to design a new place mat for restaurant chain Toby Carvery.

Ellie's winning design will go up against eight other regional finalists for the chance to have their design made in to a placemat which will appear on dining tables at 122 Toby Carvery restaurants. The competition judges were looking for a unique design which encourages children to fill their plates with more fresh fruit and vegetables.

One of the judges, Toby Carvery Operations Director Sheelagh Pegg, was full of praise for Ellie's design.

He said: "Ellie came up with an extremely original design and we were all very impressed with both the sentiment and the humorous style."
