CHILDREN'S author Chris D'Lacey was on hand to celebrate the reopening of the library at Byron Wood Primary School in Sheffield.
The novelist read to Year Five pupils at the Earldom Road school to celebrate the libary's reopening following a huge fire that swept through the school last month.

On March 10 an electrical fault resulted in the loss of classrooms, the school library and IT suite.

It was only the prompt action of the caretaker, Richard Waddingham, and the quick response of the fire service that stopped the damage and loss being much more serious.

The school was reopened just two weeks later.
