Luckily, there are plentyof thrills and spills available in Sheffield this weekend, whether you’re a free spirit or want something dead organised.

The top caper is probably the Sheffield Halloween Zombie Bar Crawl.

Featuring nine venues and two nightclubs, the event runs from 8pm to 4am and will feature 1,000 zombies (well, students dressed like zombies), a bar crawl through every venue, drinks, discount offers and free fake blood.

All participants must be in fancy dress and meet at 8pm at Bar & Beyond.

The new West Street bar, opposite The Cavendish, took over the spot from Varsity. It offers a range of drinks in a chilled out, low-lit environment - including local ales and spirits served in tin cans.

It’s a cool spot worth returning to even after Halloween is over.

Then, the event will head around eight more venues, before ending up at Sheffield Hallam’s biggest student night, Hallam Nation.

The night will also include entry to Zombie Nation at Crystal.

Participants will also play themed games through the night along the way.

Tickets, priced £6 including booking fee, are available online.

On Saturday, Magna Centre - yes, the science one on the outskirts of Rotherham near Sheffield -is putting on Fear Fest 16.

The event is Yorkahire’s biggest Halloween dance music festival - with Chase and Status, Lethal Bizzle, Darius Syrossian, Big Narstie and more.

As well as buying tickets to the event, you can also get a ticket that includes a coach pick up and drop off from Barnsley, Bradford or Keighley (other areas’ coaches have already sold out).

The coach picks up at 6.30pm, and returns at 4.30am - which should tell you a bit about how mad it’s going to end up (Fear Fest itself ends at 5am!).

The club night is on at the O2 Academy and will feature Kano, Shy FX, Kurupt FM, My Nu Leng, AJ Tracey and more.

There aren’t many tickets left, so it would be wise to snap them up quick - or you might be in for a fright when you go to book.

Also on Saturday, Candypants Sheffield Hell on Earth will be on at House of Hugo. The Carver Street bar will play host to the scarily good Halloween party.

So whatever your haunt, you’re bound to find something worth screaming about.
